El Defrawy Wins Third PSA Title in Five Weeks

Updated: Apr 10, 2021

One week after claiming the $5, 000 Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute PSA Women’s Open title in Virginia, Trinity graduate Kanzy El Defrawy earned her third PSA title in five weeks, topping the $5, 000 Lifestuff Open at Tuxedo Park in New York.

The Egyptian world No. 41 did not drop a game on her way to the title, and defeated Berwyn Squash & Fitness’ Georgina Stoker in the final to claim her third U.S. Pro Series title of 2016.

The tournament also marked the second consecutive PSA event that fourteen-year-old U.S. junior champion Marina Stefanoni qualified for the main draw. As she did one week earlier, Stefanoni drew the two seed in the main draw, but this time was not able to pull out an upset against the eventual runner up, Stoker.

The twenty-two-year-old from Cairo claimed the final U.S. Pro Series title of the 2016 calendar year with the series restarting in Wilmington January 18-22, where El Defrawy leads the $10.000 Corporation Service Company Delaware Women’s Open draw.
